There’s been a lot of talk in the tabloids about Brad Pitt’s newly single life. Star Magazine has run a few stories about Brad and Kate Hudson specifically, which some people seem to think is or was actually happening. While Brad doesn’t have a hard-and-fast “type,” I just don’t think Kate Hudson would really be his type. Maybe for a casual hookup, but even then… no, I just can’t see it. Maybe that’s a lack of imagination on my part. Several weeks ago, there was also a confirmation that Brad is texting his ex-wife, Jennifer Aniston. Which led some people to wonder if Brad and Jen were secretly meeting (behind Justin Theroux’s back?) to talk, make love and cry whilst staring at the ocean. Well, People Magazine wants you to know that Brad isn’t banging anybody these days. I think that’s the point of this?
Brad Pitt is becoming more at peace with his newfound single life, but he’s in no rush to enter the dating world. Recently, Pitt has been “in better spirits” since weathering a difficult split from Angelina Jolie in September after 12 years together. As the two work with a private judge to resolve the divorce and custody, “things are definitely calming down,” an insider tells PEOPLE in this week’s issue.
But moving on with his love life isn’t a priority, sources say. Instead, the actor, 53, has been enjoying a low-key social life and reconnecting with pals.
“He often has friends over,” says the insider. “Old friends are back in his life, and he seems happy about it.”
And the two-time Sexiest Man Alive has been working out almost daily. “He’s lost a few pounds,” says a second source. “He’s in very good shape.”
Along with spending more time with his kids, Pitt has been dabbling in a new hobby — sculpture — while also keeping busy with work, lining up his next movies as an actor and a producer.
“He seems much happier,” says the second source.
He seemed to look a lot thinner – or a lot less booze-bloated – last year while he was promoting Allied. So, I don’t think the “he’s lost a few pounds” is a recent development. Back in November, he looked like a man who had just gone through an intensive detox. As for Brad reconnecting with old friends… the subtext there is that he was somewhat estranged with some of his bros during The Angelina Years. That when he was with Jolie, she was such a ballbusting monster who forced him to dissociate with his friends. My take is that he probably outgrew some of his bud-smoking buds during The Angelina Years and now he’s back, getting high with old friends. As for Single, Sad Brad Who Is Not Dating… we’ll see. I have a feeling that something will be happening on that front in the coming months.
